Whale Totem Tattoo

I'm getting another tattoo and this is what it looks like. Inspired by designs from Sasha Unisex.

GUYS I am so excited about this for two main reasons: First of all. Whales are my totem animal. They inspire guidance, creativity, and emotional depth. Also, I'm moving to Seattle, where whales are pretty well represented, from tourism to indigenous art. So this is sort of a tattoo to commemorate my move as well as a reminder of all the things the whale represents.

When I told my mom I wanted a whale tattoo, she was a little leery. I'm a bigger gal, and she was afraid that people would automatically go to the "beached whale" mentality of heavier-set people if they saw my tattoo. But I said I didn't care. Whales are literally the largest mammals in the world, but they are the most beautiful, graceful, and majestic creatures. And I think we can all learn from that.

My bestie is in a tattoo apprenticeship so she's putting this on my body. I'm super-excited I get to include her in the process.
