Sister painting for my Galadriel piece, this one focuses on Melian, Queen of Doriath who is a Maia. I wanted her to look sort of glowy, otherworldly a bit since she's sort of a demi-goddess. I went with something totally different from what I'd intended her crown to look like. Upon contemplation and a ridiculous conversation with my sister, we decided the gold branches suited her better than the delicate silver of Galadriel's crown. I'm quite happy with how it turned out overall. I am just loving getting back into fantasy painting and whatnot, I've missed it so!
These two are, in my opinion, your best work. They have a wonderful clarity and spontaneity that is delightful and magnetic. I really hope to see more in this style in the future. Love!!!
Absolutely brilliant! Somehow you capture that sadness that she would have constantly born having known that her family would disintegrate and her whole home come to ruin long before it happened. She has an interesting character with both this ethereal side and very earthy side to her. She protects her entire home using great magical power and yet she stays simply because she is in love. Great ^^
I always get so excited when people read so much out of a simple painting- a lot of times they pick up on things I didn't even know I added, and I think that's cool about art. It means something different to everyone.
Mhm I know exactly what you mean, my Mum is an artist by trade so I've basically grow up critiquing her work ^^' I'm very opinionated as a result. But your artwork allows for alot of different interpretations, there are alot of flowing lines and intricate shapes for people to see and think of in their own way.
