On the Road to Rivendellby ~Lamorien

Commission I did for someone, she wanted a painting of Strider/Aragorn, Frodo, and Sam on their way to Rivendell (before Weathertop, obviously!) I had a lot of fun with this one, playing with texture and shading (most of which is lost because my camera sucks, alas.) Nevertheless, it felt great to get back into doing full illustrations like this, and it was just a bonus to be getting paid to do LOTR scenes

Watercolor. This is quite a small piece, only about 5x7. Hard to get a lot of detail on that small of a piece, especially on cold press paper. May have to reevaluate my paper choice at some point.
